BAD LARRY'S PARTY SALT
Bad Larry’s Party Salt (BLPS) is Burch Barrel’s own chili lime salt. It’s a surprisingly sweet yet spicy chili lime salt that packs a punch that pairs well with way more than you might think. The first time I tried it, I really thought it only had one application and that was to be added to the rim of a margarita but I can assure you that Bad Larry’s is much more than your average margarita salt.
Personally, my favorite way to use Bad Larry’s is with drinks. Micheladas seem to have become by favorite drink where salt can be added but I can also assure you that its taste also pairs well with Bloody Mary’s, Mexican Mules, Daiquiris, Palomas, and my other personal favorite any light Mexican lager. Additionally, it helps take down a shot of cheap tequila.
Without making it sound like I have a drinking problem; I think it’s important to mention that BLPS can be added to fruity soft drinks and food as well. The very sweet flavor provided by the lime combined with the heat from the chili powder makes BLPS a great seasoning salt as well as a great main ingredient while preparing meat for the grill. Generally, you can’t go wrong adding BLPS to any Mexican dish but additionally it is a great add on to grilled kabobs, grilled shrimp ceviche, pork ribs, and much more.
What I’ve listed above are just a few recipes that I’ve tried BLPS with but I can assure you this this versatile seasoning is one that is worth having in the spice cabinet. Drink up!
